NOTE: | This Containment Program can only be administered after a failure occurs. The decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer and service rep. Obtain the service reps Goodwill Approver Code before completing the repair. EAME dealers should use their standard Industry Group specific goodwill approval codes. The Goodwill Approver Code must be included when submitting the claim. |
NOTE: | When reporting the repair, use "PS61234" as the Part Number and "7777" as the Group Number. Use "96" as Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code. |

PROBLEM
Cracking at the butt weld or fillet weld may occur on the existing boom group on certain 320D Excavators. If the cracks are not repaired in a timely manner, the cracks may propagate and cause further damage to the boom. |

ACTION REQUIRED
If crack occurs at operation hour less than 6000 Hrs, replace the boom group with a new boom group. Refer to RENR8614, Disassembly and Assembly, removal and installation procedure for the boom group, to complete this action. If crack occurs at operation hours beyond 6000 Hrs, the boom should be repaired accordingly. If the boom is replaced or repaired, please take pictures of the failed boom including boom serial number, actual operation hours, and the type of cracking when submitting the warranty claim. |
