PROBLEM
The braces holding the water radiator need to be reworked on certain 325C and 325C L Excavators. The braces fixing the water radiator may have been installed incorrectly during assembly. Dear Caterpillar Product Owner:
The braces holding the water radiator need to be reworked on certain 325C and 325C L Excavators. The braces fixing the water radiator may have been installed incorrectly during assembly. The position of the braces and the torque applied on the bolts need to be checked and corrected on the products listed below. You will not be charged for the service performed.
Contact your local Caterpillar dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service. Please refer the dealer to their Service Letter dated February 26, 2002 when scheduling this service.
We regret the inconvenience this may cause you, but urge you to have this service performed as soon as possible to prevent unscheduled downtime.

Rework Procedure
Illustration 1
- Remove the bottom guard to access the radiator braces ref 121703 and 7Y1364 (see Illustration 1).
- Check if the braces have been both well assembled according to Illustrations 2 and 3.
- Correct the brace assembly or position if not conform. Illustration 2
- Check the 8T4192 and 8T4956 Bolts and tighten to 100 +/- 20 N.m if needed.
- Put the bottom guard back into place when finished.
