Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, PERJ1017, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
- Remove hose assembly (1) from torque converter screen assembly (2) and drain the oil into a suitable container. Remove screen assembly (2) from the bottom of the torque converter housing.

(4)8M-4443 O-Ring Seal
(5) Spacer - Check that 9P-0217 Screen (3) has been installed. If no 9P-0217 Screen (3) was installed, ensure that a 9P-0217 Screen (3) is installed.
- Assemble Item (3) through Item (5) replacing 8M-4443 O-Ring Seal (4).
- Install the screen assembly in the torque converter housing and connect the hose assembly.
- Fill the transmission with oil.
