A Procedure to Rework the Throttle Pedal Base Plate is now available for Certain Load Haul Dump Machines. {1269}

Usage:

R1600H 9SD
Load Haul Dump
R1600G (S/N: 9YZ1-UP)
R1600H (S/N: 9SD1-UP)
R1700 (S/N: KT41-UP)
R1700G (S/N: SBR1-UP; XBR1-UP)
R2900G (S/N: JLK1-UP; NLK1-UP)
R3000H (S/N: RCM1-UP; RCY1-UP)

Description Of Change: A procedure to rework the throttle pedal base plate is now available for the above listed machines. This procedure is to ensure that the throttle position sensor does not interfere with the throttle base plate mounting bolts when the throttle is depressed.

Adaptable To: The procedure is adaptable to the above serial numbered machines.

------ WARNING! ------

Do not operate or work on this product unless you have read and understood the instruction and warnings in the relevant Operation and Maintenance Manuals and relevant service literature. Failure to follow the instructions or heed the warnings could result in injury or death. Proper care is your responsibility.

The throttle pedal may have a lack of clearance on the front mounting bolts when the throttle is depressed.

Load Haul Dump machines fitted with 276-3240 Throttle Pedal Gp may interfere with the mounting bolts due to a lack of clearance between the throttle position sensor and mounting bolts.

In the event of interference between the throttle position sensor and the front mounting bolts use the following procedure.

Throttle position pedal assembly.

  1. Disconnect the wiring harness and remove the throttle position pedal assembly

  2. Remove the throttle pedal from the base plate.

    (C) Distance 15 mm (0.6 inch) below the original location (1) using center line (A) as reference.

  3. Rework the throttle position base plate by drilling a 8.5 mm (21/64 inch) hole in location (2)

  4. Using the throttle pedal base plate as a template reference, rework the base plate mount assembly to ensure that mounting holes are aligned.

Note: Check the below table before starting rework to the base plate mount. Verify the correct rework procedure to be completed.

(3,4) Original location unchanged
(5,6) Original location not used

Note: The throttle pedal base is now secured with 3 bolts to provide sufficient clearance of the throttle position sensor when the pedal is depressed.

Secure the pedal base plate to the mounting plate and reinstall assembly into the machine.

Test the throttle position with CAT ET to ensure that throttle pedal position reads 100 % ± 2 % when fully depressed.
