Problem
Users noticed that a timer in the device keeps running after the disconnect is opened. As long as the disconnect was opened the disconnect needs to be closed again for the device to catch up. Scheduled messages created during that time will have a future timestamp, and thus will be ignored as invalid until the device catches up to the correct time again.
Solution
Caterpillar is aware of this problem, and a containment fix is expected in the upcoming onboard software release R6 by October 2018. Full corrective action is expected in the R7 release which is not yet scheduled. Dealers who experience this issue with the devices on 2018.4 firmware can leave the disconnect closed, where possible to reduce the time gap and messages lost during the catch up phase.
