Introduction

The procedure provides a method to calibrate engine idle shut down time.

Required Tools

Reference: Special Instruction, REHS7696, "Software Installation Instructions of the Plus+1^TM Service Tool for Caterpillar (P1STC) Is Available for Caterpillar Paving Products".

1. Connect Tool (B2) and Tool (C) to Tool (B1). Connect Tool (B2) to the USB port on Tool (A).

2. Connect Tool (C) to the Service port on the machine.

3. Move Engine Start Switch to the on position.

4. Launch the "Plus+1 Service Tool for Caterpillar" program on the computer and follow the instructions displayed for communication.

Adjustments Procedure

Follow the instructions for communication between the ECM and service tool.

1. Click "Target Configurations" icon as shown in Illustration 3.

2. Click on the "EIS and ECO" text under "Configurations" as shown in Illustration 4.

3. Click on "Delayed Shutdown Time" under the "Value" column up to 120 minutes.

4. Click on "Save" tab to save the new value to the ECM as shown in Illustration 5.

5. Move the engine start switch to the OFF position.

6. Close the "Plus+1 Service Tool for Caterpillar" program on the computer.

7. Remove tool (C) from the diagnostic connector on the machine.
