At operating temperature, the hydraulic oil is hot and under pressure. Hot oils can cause burns. To prevent possible personal injury, release the pressure in the work tool hydraulic circuit (boom, stick, bucket, and swing), travel circuits, and the hydraulic oil tank at the filler cap before any hydraulic lines or components are disconnected or removed. Remove the filler cap only when the engine is stopped and the filler cap is cool enough to touch. |

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before operating any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. After collecting all fluids in suitable containers, dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
- Adjust the hydraulic pressure that is supplied to the rotate circuit. Refer to the Service Manual for the host machine for the proper procedure. Adjust the pressure to approximately
14000 kPa (2030 psi) .Show/hide tableIllustration 1 g06329514 Typical Example
(B) Rotate the rotator to the left.
(C) Rotate the rotator to the right. - Install tooling (A) to test fitting (1).
- Install tooling (A) to test fitting (2).
- Start the engine of the host machine. Operate the host machine until the hydraulic oil reaches normal operating temperature.
- Lock the shear in order to keep the shear from rotating.
- Attempt to rotate the work tool to the left. Record the reading on both pressure gauges.
- Record the pressure difference between these two gauges. This difference should be
14000 ± 1000 kPa (2030 ± 145 psi) . If the pressure is within the specification, the crossover relief valve is working properly. If the pressure is not within the specification, refer to the troubleshooting section. - Repeat steps 6 and 7 for rotation to the left.
