Electric Starting Motor - Remove and Install
Start By:
- Remove the belt guard.

Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool. |
- Remove nut (1), nut (2), and the harness assemblies from electric starting motor (4).
- Remove nut (3) and the cable assembly from electric starting motor (4).
- Remove the three nuts (5) and electric starting motor (4).

- Install electric starting motor (4) in the reverse order of removal.
- Tighten nut (1) to a torque of
15 ± 3 N·m (133 ± 26 lb in) . - Tighten nut (2) to a torque of
6 ± 1 N·m (53 ± 8 lb in) . - Tighten nut (3) to a torque of
18 ± 3 N·m (159 ± 26 lb in) .
- Tighten nut (1) to a torque of
