Note: Note the positions of the bolts when the bolts are removed. The bolts have different lengths.
(5) Tighten the bolts for the front housing to the cylinder block evenly to the following torques:
- M8 ... 22 N·m (16 lb ft)
- M10 ... 44 N·m (32 lb ft)
Note: Tighten the center bolt on the front housing last.
(6) Front oil seal
When the front oil seal is correctly installed, the rear face of the seal will be squarely positioned against the back face of the recess in the seal housing.

Note: The linkage for the fuel injection pump is located inside the front housing cover.
