New Power Train Software Is Now Available for Certain Large Off-Highway Trucks {7610, 7620}

Off-Highway Truck/Tractor: 794 AC (S/N: MN51-UP; MT51-UP); 795F AC (S/N: ERM1-UP); 795FAC XQ (S/N: SNT1-UP)

A new power train software is now available on certain large Off-Highway Trucks that are listed above.

Improvements for the new software are listed below:

Improvements to engine speed control during partial engine power:

- This new strategy will reduce the engine speed, when the drivetrain power is below full engine power.

- Engine speed can be controlled between 1800 RPM to 1650 RPM, while the machine is at a certain speed limit.

- Engine speed is reduced below 1650 RPM while the machine is coasting.

The software includes support for 455-9584 Electronic Control Gp (A5M7) hardware.

The new software part number and former part number is listed in Table 1.

Note: This software can be used only on Large Off-Highway Trucks equipped with A5 Drivetrain ECM's. The ECM version can be determined by the ECM part numbers 365-6790 Machine Electronic Control Module, 455-9584 Electronic Control Gp or by the ECM serial number ending in "QQ" or "WF".

Note: The Propulsion (Motor) Software must be updated with the most recent Propulsion (Motor) software available on SIS web. Failure to do this will cause software mismatch diagnostics.

Note: Use Drivetrain software 494-2591 Power Train Software Gp for trucks equipped with A4 Drivetrain ECM. The ECM version can be determined by the ECM part number 304-5687 Electronic Control Module or the ECM serial number ending in "MS".

Note: The new software is available in the form of a flash file through the Caterpillar Service Information System (SIS). Refer to SIS web to make sure that the new flash file part number is still the latest flash file part number. A newer flash file part number may be available. SIS only displays the latest available flash file.
