Introduction
The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.
Problem
Some 120 12 140 160 M, M2, and M3 Motor Graders have experienced overheating of the hydraulic system during fine modulation of the lift cylinder circuit. This can create excessive pump pressure leading to overheating.
Solution
Normal troubleshooting for hot hydraulic oil should be followed. If no issue is found, then determine if the machine is operating with the fine control setting or if the machine is making fine movements. If the machine is operating in either scenario, report the issue. Report the feedback by completing a CPI Feedback Form at the Service Information Management System (SIMS). When submitting the form, include CPI 358228 in the information.
