(3) Fuse "D8"
(4) Fuse "F11"
(5) Fuse "F9"
(6) Fuse "F4"

Fuse and relay bank (1) is on the right side of the machine, under the operator platform.

Fuse and relay bank (1) contains fuses and relays that regulate the distribution of electrical power to the material feed system. An access panel provides access to these components. The fuse and relay bank has a removable cover (shown removed). A decal on the cover identifies the components in the fuse and relay bank.

Fuse "F32" (2) provides power to the machine ECM.

Fuse "D8" (3) provides unswitched power to the operator station.

Fuse "F11" (4) provides switched power to the operator station.

Fuse "F9" (5) provides switched power to the material height sensors.

Fuse "F4" (6) provides a wake-up signal to the machine ECM.

(7) Conveyor material height sensor
(8) Conveyor material height paddle

The material height sensor components are on the rear of the tractor. The left side sensor is shown in the illustration above. The right side component is similar.

Conveyor material height sensor (7) measures the height of the paving material at the rear of the corresponding conveyor. This sensor is connected to conveyor material height paddle (8).

During paving operation, conveyor material height paddle (8) rests on the paving material at the rear of the conveyor. The greater the amount of paving material at the end of the conveyor, the farther the paddle is pushed toward the rear of the machine. The sensor converts the position of the paddle to an electrical signal. The signal is sent to the machine ECM.

(9) Conveyor material height sensor
(10) Conveyor material height paddle

The material height sensor components are on the rear of the tractor. The left side auger material height sensor is shown in the illustration above. The right side component is similar.

Auger material height sensor (9) measures the height of the paving material at the end of the corresponding auger. This sensor is connected to auger material height paddle (10).

During paving operation, auger material height paddle (10) rests on the paving material at the end of the auger. The greater the amount of paving material at the end of the auger, the farther the paddle is pushed toward the outside of the machine. The sensor converts the position of the paddle to an electrical signal. The signal is sent to the machine ECM.

Note: Material height sonic sensors can be used in place of the material height paddles. These sensors transmit and receive sound waves. The sensor determines the time required for the sound waves to reflect off the paving material and return to the sensor. The elapsed time indicates the amount of paving material present. The material height sensors provide pulse-width modulated signals to the machine ECM.
