Description of Change: A new single piece oil pan is now used on certain D8T Track-Type Tractors andPipelayers. The single piece oil pan removes the need for split line gaskets and provides improved sealing of the oil pan.
This new oil pan has a larger oil capacity than the prior oil pan. Refer to Table 1 below for the oil refill capacity for the new single piece oil pan. This larger oil capacity will help increase time between service intervals, and instruction for reaching longer intervals should be referenced in the machine Operation and Maintenance Manual. There are some maintenance implications with utilization of this new pan, including access to the suction bell retention bolts. See Special Instruction, REHS9887 for more information.
