Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |

Fast Fill Service Port (If Equipped)
- Prepare the machine for maintenance. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Prepare the Machine for Maintenance".
- Remove the plug (1) to drain the oil. Drain the oil into a suitable container.
- Install the plug.
- Change the suction strainer assemblies. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly Manual, UENR5576.
- Fill the tank from the fast fill port (2).
- Fill the hydraulic tank. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Lubricant Viscosities". Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Capacities (Refill)".
- Prime the pumps by adding hydraulic oil through the case drain lines.
- Start the engine and operate the engine at low idle for 5 minutes. Check for leaks and make any necessary repairs. Make sure that the accumulators are fully charged.
- Stop the engine.
- Check the oil level in the hydraulic tank. Purge each of the systems to remove any entrapped air. Check the hydraulic oil level regularly. For information on the oil level, refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic Tank Oil Level - Check".
If the fast fill service port is not equipped.
- Prepare the machine for maintenance. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Prepare the Machine for Maintenance".

- Remove the breather (3).
- Change the suction strainer assemblies. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly Manual, UENR5576.
- Fill the hydraulic tank from the breather port (3). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Lubricant Viscosities". Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Capacities (Refill)".
- Install the breather.
- Prime the pumps by adding hydraulic oil through the case drain lines.
- Start the engine and operate the engine at low idle for 5 minutes. Check for leaks and make any necessary repairs. Make sure that the accumulators are fully charged.
- Stop the engine.
