Pad Assembly May Be Damaged on Certain 777D Off-Highway Trucks{7258}

The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.

Problem

The 229-6177 Pad As in the 299-3569 Truck Body Mounting Gp may be burnt or damaged on the machines listed above. The failure may be due to lesser resistance to engine exhaust temperature.

Solution

Caterpillar is aware of this problem, and is recommending the below changes to address the failure.

Replace the former 229-6177 Pad As with new 376-7790 Pad As (1) on the exhaust side alone.
