Installation Procedure

Note: Check the O-ring seals, the gaskets, and the seals for wear or for damage. Replace the components, if necessary.

1. Apply Tooling (A) to the threads of three bolts (9) .

2. Install lockout assembly (10) and STIC steering pilot valve (11) using three bolts (9), the nuts, and the washers.

3. Connect electrical connector (7) and electrical connector (8) .

4. Connect hose assembly (3), hose assembly (4), hose assembly (5) and hose assembly (6) .

5. Loosen two locknuts (13). With the STIC steering pilot valve in the center position, adjust plate (14) in order to engage the mechanical lockout. Tighten locknuts (13). Operate lever (12) to lock and unlock the mechanical lockout assembly and check for a smooth operation.

6. Check the STIC lockout control limit switch. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Limit Switch STIC Lockout Control - Check".

7. Install cover (1) and cover (2) .

   Note: Connect the electrical connector for the step lamp attached to cover (1) .

8. Fill the hydraulic tank with oil to the correct level. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Oil Level - Check".

9. Adjust the steering deadband. Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "STIC Control (Steering Deadband) - Adjust".

End By: Remove the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Remove and Install".
