PROBLEM
Certain C175 high pressure fuel pumps for all applications may have oil plugs installed in them that can leak. |
ACTION REQUIRED
Rework the following C175 high pressure fuel pumps in dealer parts stock that are listed in Image 1. Install two 553-4102 Seal Screw Kits (oil replacement plug kits) to pumps that are found in dealer parts stock that are listed in Image 1. Refer to the attached Rework Procedure. After the pump is reworked, mark the package as inspected/reworked and place the pump back into dealer parts stock. |

SERVICE CLAIM ALLOWANCES
Submit one claim for all pumps reworked in dealer parts stock. Two 553-4102 Seal Screw Kits are allowed for each pump that is reworked in dealer parts stock. 1 hour is allowed for each pump that is reworked in dealer parts stock. Along with the part number, include the serial numbers of the pumps that were reworked. |

Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling. |
This procedure should be performed on high pressure fuel pumps only in dealer parts stock, and only in a clean environment. Ensure the areas around the M10 oil plugs are free of debris. Remove both M10 oil plugs from the high pressure fuel pump as circled in Image 1.1.1. Plug the hole with a similar sized plastic plug, or use a piece of tape to cover the hole. Note: The internal hex size for the M10 oil plug is 5 mm. |

The 553-4102 Seal Screw Kit contains an oil plug and a seal ring. Install the seal ring to the oil plug as shown in Image1.2.1. The seal ring has one side with rounded edges, the side with rounded edges should be orientated towards the plug head. Remove the plastic plug or tape from the oil holes. Replace both oil plugs as circled in Image 1.1.1 with the 553-4102 Seal Screw Kits. Tighten both oil M10 oil plugs to 25 Nm. |
