Personal injury or death may result from failure to adhere to the following procedures.

Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire.

Clean up all leaked or spilled fuel. Do not smoke while working on the fuel system.

Turn the disconnect switch OFF or disconnect the battery when changing fuel filters.



NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

  1. Remove clip (2). Disconnect tube assembly (1).

  2. Remove clip (3). Disconnect tube assembly (4).

  3. Remove nuts (6) and fuel cooler (5).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install fuel cooler (5) in the reverse order of removal.

    1. Apply Tooling (A) to threads of the stud that nuts (6) tighten on.

    2. Tighten nuts (6) to a torque of 12 - 15 N·m (106 - 133 lb in).
