Introduction

This special instruction provides the needed parts and the procedure to relocate the circuit breaker group.

Sudden movement or accidental starting of the machine can cause personal injury or death to persons on or near the machine. To prevent personal injury or death, perform the following: Park the machine on a smooth, level surface. Lower the work tool to the ground and engage the parking brake. Stop the engine and remove the key. Block the wheels and install the steering frame lock.

When it is necessary to work under the machine with the body (bed) raised, attach the body (bed) retaining cables to the rear tow points. Install the rear tow point pins through the ends of the retaining cables. Failure to properly secure the body (bed) may result in personal injury or death.

Hot oil and hot components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or hot components to contact skin. At operating temperature, the engine coolant is hot and under pressure. Steam can cause personal injury. Check the coolant level only after the engine has been stopped and the cooling system pressure cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand. Remove the cooling system pressure cap slowly to relieve pressure. Cooling system conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with the skin and eyes to prevent personal injury.

When a hoist is used to lift any part or assembly, stand clear of the area under the part being raised. Always make sure that the hoist has adequate lifting capacity and the wire cable is not damaged. Failure to follow this instruction could lead to injury or death. Approximate weights of the components are shown in the table which follows.

Do not check for leaks with your hands. Pin hole (very small) leaks can result in a high velocity oil stream that will be invisible close to the hose. This oil can penetrate the skin and cause personal injury. Use cardboard or paper to locate pin hole leaks.

Remove the Circuit Breaker Group

1. Locate the existing circuit breaker box on the front LH bumper

2. Remove and discard the circuit breaker box, cables, and all associated clipping.

   Note: Be sure to remove each cable and associated clipping back to their destination.

Remove the Hose Assemblies

9. Route the LH harness (A) under circuit breaker group (1) and install clip (25 ), clip (26) and grommet (27) to the underside of circuit breaker group (1) using one bolt (24), two washers (19), and nut (20) .

10. Secure alternator cable to circuit breaker group (1) using grommet (31) clip (25), clip (26) and spacer (30) .

11. Secure the main breaker cable and alternator cable clipping using grommet (34), clip (25), clip (26), bolt (28), two washers (29) and nut (20) .

12. Secure prelube pump cable (B) to circuit breaker group (1) using grommet (27), clip (25), clip (26), bolt (32), spacer (33), two washers (29) and nut (20) .

13. Install fuse (34). Install bottom LH cable (A) and prelube pump cable (B) onto fuse holder (14) using two lockwashers (36), two washers (37) and two nuts (38) .

22. Terminate prelube pump cable (A) on prelube power relay terminal. Secure boot to cable with cable strap (15) .

33. Secure main breaker cable (C) to frame using grommet (6), clip (2), clip (3), washer (9) and bolt (33) .

34. Secure main breaker cable (C) to frame using grommet (6), clip (2), clip (3), washer (9), nut (8) and taperlock stud (16) .

35. Secure main breaker cable (C) to frame using grommet (6), clip (2), clip (3), washer (9) and bolt (34) .

36. Secure main breaker cable (C) to frame using grommet (6), clip (2), clip (3), washer (9) and bolt (35) .

37. Secure main breaker cable (C) to frame using grommet (6), clip (2), clip (3), washer (9), nut (31) and taperlock stud (36) .

39. Secure main breaker cable (C) using grommet (6), clip (2), clip (3), washer (9), nut (8) and taperlock stud (39) .

40. Secure main breaker cable (C) using grommet (6), clip (2), clip (3), washer (9), nut (40) and bolt (33) .

41. Secure main breaker cable (C) using spacer (4), grommet (6), clip (2), clip (3), washer (9) and bolt (41) .

42. Terminate main breaker cable using washer (42) and bolt (43). Secure the terminal boot with cable strap (15) .

8. Secure hose assembly (1) and hose assembly (2) to the existing plates on the front of the engine by using two bolts (17), four hard washers (6), two nuts (7), two clips (18), and two clips (3) .

   Ensure that existing hose assembly (A) is also secured with retained clips.

   Refer to Illustration 40 for general location, and Illustration 41 for detailed location.

   Note: Ensure that clips (18) are used with hose assembly (1), and clips (3) are used with hose assembly (2). Refer to Illustration 40.

9. Secure hose assembly (1) to existing elbow (B). Secure hose assembly (2) to existing elbow (C) .
