24M Motor Grader Hydraulic and Steering System Caterpillar

Control Manifold (Implement, Steering)

Usage:

24M B9K
Note: If the system has been updated from the original configuration, refer to the following information.

(3) Outlet to Tank

(4) Relief valve

(5) Pressure reducing valve

(6) Scheduled Oil Sampling port

(7) Pilot Pressure Outlet

(8) Pressure test port for pilot pressure

(9) Pump Outlet

The control manifold contains the main system relief valve (4), the primary pilot pressure reducing valve (5), two pressure test ports and the Scheduled Oil Sampling port (6). Pressure test port (2) will indicate the oil pressure from the piston pump for the implement and steering. Pressure test port (8) will indicate the oil pressure in the pilot system for the implements.

The control manifold contains a pressure reducing valve (5). The pressure reducing valve regulates the pressure for the pilot system for the implements and steering.

ReferenceFor information on the pilot pressure settings, refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Hydraulic System Pressure - Test and Adjust".

The control manifold contains a relief valve (4) that will protect the system from a sudden rise in pressure. Relief valve (4) will limit the peak pressure in the circuit.

ReferenceFor more information on the relief valve settings, refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Hydraulic System Pressure - Test and Adjust".

Oil enters the manifold at port (1). Oil will flow from port (1) to pump pressure test port (2), pressure reducing valve (5), and relief valve (4). When the pressure is too high, relief valve (4) will open. The oil will be sent back to the hydraulic tank through port (3). Pressure reducing valve (5) will close when the pilot circuit is up to operating pressure.

ReferenceFor information on the pressure settings of the control manifold, refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Hydraulic System Pressure - Test and Adjust".
