The implement system is composed of the following components:
- Implement pump
- Pilot control manifold
- Shut-off manifold
- Pilot oil filter
- Implement control valve
- Cylinders and the circle drive
The implement piston pump is the rear pump on the tandem. The implement piston pump transfers oil from the tank to the control manifold. The control manifold sends pump supply oil to the pilot system and the implement control valves.
The pilot oil will then flow through the pilot oil filter and then to the shut-off manifold. The shut-off manifold contains the implement lockout solenoid valve. The implement lockout solenoid valve will control the flow of pilot oil throughout the system. The shut-off manifold also contains the load sense shuttle valve.
The oil that is not used by the control manifold will flow to the implement control valve. The implement control valves will direct oil to the cylinders or circle drive.

There are nine standard implement circuits on the machine. Eight control valves are for cylinder circuits and one control valve is for the motor that rotates the blade around the drawbar. The implement system can accommodate as many as 14 implement control valves. The individual control valves regulate the operation of each implement. When the operator moves the joystick control, an electrical signal is sent to a directional solenoid. When the solenoid is energized, pilot oil will be directed to one side of the valve spool. The valve spool will shift. Oil will be directed to the corresponding implement.
Some of the Motor Graders may have different implements. The number of the control valves in each valve group may vary. When an implement control valve is replaced, use the same part number. This will keep the control valve and the cylinder matched.
