- Off-Highway Truck/Tractor:
- 770G (S/N: ECM1-UP)
- 772G (S/N: LTS1-UP)
Introduction
The problem that is identified in the technical bulletin that follows does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution identified below. This technical information bulletin replaces the 14July 2013 technical information bulletin "The Lift Cylinder Pin May Become Loose on Certain 770G and 772G Off-Highway Trucks".
Problem

Reports have been received from the field that the 9M-2321 Pin (3) for the lift cylinder was loose on some machines. The lift cylinder pin was loose because the 2K-0703 Bar (1) was installed upside down. Also, the torque on the 8T-4139 Bolts (2) was below the specified torque.
Solution

As an interim corrective action, verify the position of the 2K-0703 Bar (1) on the machine. The bar holds the pin in position. The bar should be inside the groove in the 9M-2321 Pin (3). Also, check the torque on the two 8T-4139 Bolts (2). The correct torque is 100 ± 20 N·m (74 ± 15 lb ft). If the bar is upside down, position the bar as shown in Illustration 2. If the bolts were not torqued to the specified torque, torque the bolts to the specified torque.
