New Bearing Assemblies Used On Main Shaft{3322}

Description of Change: New bearing assemblies are used on the main shaft. The bearing assemblies provide matched sets of bearings which will result in correct bearing preload. Formerly, the use of unmatched bearing sets could result in incorrect preload.

Location of the new 1031674 Bearing Assembly (1) and new 1031671 Bearing Assembly (2) on the main shaft.

Adaptable To: The new 1031674 Bearing Assembly (1) is a direct replacement for the former two 1P2695 Bearing Cups, two 1P2694 Bearing Cones, and 3N4534 Spacer. Install the new 1031674 Bearing Assembly on the main shaft with a force of 222 500 ± 22 250 N (50,000 ± 5000 lb).

The new 1031671 Bearing Assembly (2) is a direct replacement for the former two 8D1817 Bearing Cups, two 8D1819 Bearing Cones, and 3N4535 Spacer. Install the new 1031671 Bearing Assembly on the main shaft with a force of 80 100 ± 13 350 N (18,000 ± 3000 lb).

NOTE: New and former type bearings CAN NOT be used together on the same shaft. Both former type bearings must be replaced at the same time.
