Usage:
3516 (4MJ) Marine Engines
Description of Change: A new rear gear group (cam drive) is used. The only difference between the new and former rear gear groups is the camshaft drive gear. A new heavier camshaft drive gear is used in the new rear gear group. The new heavier camshaft drive gear has increased rotational inertia. This increased inertia results in lowered camshaft drive gear to idler gear mesh torques. The result will be increased rear gear group service life.
Adaptable To: The new 1008310 Rear Gear Group is a direct replacement for the former 4W5906 Rear Gear Group. The new group is in effect with 3516 Marine Engine 4MJ34 and adaptable to all earlier engines.
The only difference between the new and former rear gear groups is the new 1006518 Camshaft Drive Gear. The 7E3897 Camshaft Drive Gear is used in the former rear gear group. Two camshaft drive gears are used in each rear gear group.
Difference between 1006518 Camshaft Drive Gear (1) and 7E3897 Camshaft Drive Gear (2).
