Occasionally there is a desire to change fan drive pulley ratios. The fan drive pulley groups for the 3400 Family Of Engines offer several pulley ratios for each engine/radiator combination. The proper ratio is selected based on the cooling requirements and fan diameter. The crankshaft pulley that comes as part of the basic engine arrangement is used in six of the fifteen pulley groups that are offered. The other pulley groups use non-standard crankshaft pulleys.

Chart A identifies the Pulley Groups, Fan Drive Ratios, and pulley group components for 3406 Engines. Chart B identifies the Pulley Groups, Fan Drive Ratios, and pulley group components for 3408 and 3412 Engines.
