The Mounting Clamp of the Accumulator Group is Breaking on Certain 797B and 797F Off-Highway Trucks{4331} Caterpillar

797F (S/N: LAJ1-UP; WSP1-UP)

Introduction

The problem that is identified in the technical information bulletin that follows does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.

Problem

The top 255-0781 Clamp (1) is cracking near the mounting bolt holes. The 255-0781 Clamp is part of the 255-7765 Steering Accumulator and Mounting Gp and 333-1456 Hydraulic Accumulator and Mounting Gp . The failed clamp results in a loose accumulator group.

Solution

Replace with the same 255-0781 Clamp . Inspect the clamp regularly and replace as required.
