Usage:
Dealers have been replacing failed Caterpillar generators with competitive makes due to erroneous information on the long delivery times for Caterpillar generators. Wording in the section on Caterpillar Generators in the Product Availability Letter distributed by Engine Scheduling and Orders apparently has been misleading.
The wording of the Product Availability Letter has been changed. Wording was added to contact the Dealer Order Analyst for availability of shipped loose generators. Through May 10, 1990 all 38 requests for shipped loose generators were shipped within two weeks of order receipt.
