Improved Material Prevents Sagging Of Rear Manifold Section{1059}

Usage:

3516 High Speed Generator Set, Industrial Engines

Description of Change: The rear manifold sections of the above engines use a higher temperature material. The rear manifold section supports the turbocharger. The above engines use a larger turbocharger than the rest of the 3500 Family Of Engines. It was possible that the former exhaust manifold could sag, because of the heavier turbocharger, if the exhaust temperatures were excessively high. If this did happen, misalignment of the turbocharger-to-exhaust elbow could allow exhaust leakage. The new manifold will operate at higher exhaust temperatures without sagging.

Adaptable To: The part number of the improved 1W5317 Right Hand Manifold, and 1W5318 Left Hand Manifold did not change. The improved manifolds are effective with 25Z1723 and 27Z675 Engines and are adaptable to earlier engines.
