Improvements To Auxiliary Fuel Filter Housing Assembly {1262}

Usage:

3500 Family Of Engines

Description of Change: Improvements have been made to the auxiliary fuel filter housing assembly. Previously, the housing assembly had support feet which wrapped around approximately 90° of the housing tube. See Illustration 1. This weld joint had corners and a relatively small load area. When subjected to vibration, the high stress in the small load area and stress concentrations in the weld corners sometimes resulted in cracks in the housing tube. The housing assembly now uses support feet which wrap completely around the housing. This provides a larger weld joint without corners and a one-piece design. See Illustration 2. This will eliminate cracks at the support feet.

Adaptable To: The part number of the improved 1W2744 Auxiliary Fuel Filter Housing Assembly did not change. See the chart for the effectivity of this change. This change is adaptable to first production.
