An Updated Procedure is Now Available for Servicing the Brake Charge Filter on 793F Off-Highway Trucks {5068}

The Operation and Maintenance Manual has been updated with the new procedure.

Removal and Installation of 293-3645 Oil Filter Element As

Note: 293-3645 Oil Filter Element As is a reverse flow filter. The clean side is the outside. Care must be taken to protect against contamination during element replacement.

    (1) Head

    (2) Purge Plug

    (3) Element O-ring seal

    (4) Filter Element

    (5) Bowl Seal

    (6) Bowl Assembly

    (7) 30 mm hex

    (8) Drain Plug

  1. Depressurize system.

  1. Drain oil into suitable container through drain plug (8) .

  1. Open purge plug (2) in filter head to reduce drain time.

  1. Remove bowl assembly (6) using wrench on the 30 mm hex (7) .

  1. Discard the filter element (4) and O-ring seal per local regulations.

  1. Check the plug O-ring seals of the purge plug and drain plug. Replace if necessary.

  1. Reinstall drain plug (8) and tighten to 16 N·m (142 lb in).

  1. Reinstall purge plug (2) and tighten to 34 N·m (301 lb in).

  1. Replace the O-ring seal (5) on the filter bowl with the replacement seal provided.

  1. Remove plastic wrap around the filter, holding by the open-end cap. Do not contaminate outside surface of filtering media as this outside surface is the clean side of the filter.

  1. Lubricate element O-ring seal (3) with system fluid.

  1. Insert filter element (4) into the bowl assembly (6) as shown.

  1. Lubricate bowl seal (5) with system fluid.

  1. Reinstall the bowl assembly (6) and tighten to 80 N·m (59 lb ft).

  1. Repressurize system and check for leaks.
