Assembly Procedure

Start By:

1. Remove the transmission gearbox.

1. Install bearing cups (21) and seals (20) to case (1).

2. Repeat Step 1 for other side of case (1).

3. Install bearing (18) in gear (14). Install retaining ring (17).

4. Install gear assembly (14) on shaft (5). Install spacer (16).

5. Use a suitable press in order to install bearing (15) in gear assembly (14).

6. Use a suitable press in order to install bearing (13) in shaft assembly (5).

7. Repeat Step 6 for other side of shaft assembly (5).

8. Repeat Steps 6 and 7 for shaft assemblies (6) and (7).

9. Install shaft assemblies (5), (6), and (7).

10. Install shifter fork (4). Install roll pin (3).

11. Install case (1). Install bolts (2), nuts, and the washers.

Note: When installing 362-2885 Locknut, apply Loctite 5926 to the washer and to the splines of the yoke. Tighten 362-2885 Locknut to a torque of 440 ± 5 N·m (325 ± 4 lb ft).
