Description of Change: An updated procedure for the blade tip cylinder is available for the Motor Graders listed above. In certain low temperature and hard surface environments the piston retaining bolt can vibrate loose during operation. This procedure will improve the operation of the blade tip cylinder and extend service life. If the machine is operating in below freezing conditions or hard surfaces, on the next scheduled blade tip cylinder teardown, perform the following update to the blade tip cylinder.

Apply Loctite 271 to blade tip piston retaining bolt (1) onto half of the circumference of the engaging threads. Wipe off any excess Loctite from the end of the rod.
