Procedure to Set and Adjust the Fan Speed

  1. Unplug the fan solenoid

  1. Start the engine. Take Machine to HI idle. Measure the fan speed with the 9U-7402 Multitach Tool Gp .

  1. Multiply the maximum fan speed multiply by 0.7. The number is the 70 per cent fan speed. Example: Maximum fan speed is 630 rpm. 630 X 0.7 = 440 rpm

  1. Connect the fan solenoid.

  1. Set the fan to the specified RPM from Step 3. Use ET to adjust the voltage in the over ride setting to the proper setting. Ensure that the laptop is left on with the screen open in order to ensure that the laptop does not go into sleep mode.

  1. Test the machine at MACHINES RATED (see specific machine rated engine speed) rpm for the test (approximately 30min).

  1. After the test is completed, reassemble the machine. Check that the fan operates correctly.
