This article summarizes the improvements that are included in the Cat Detect Object Detection System version 1.1 software for the large off-highway trucks. The part number for the version 1.1 software is 361-8176 Monitor Software Gp .
New Features
The system operation can be configured for "Distance" based operation or "Speed" based operation. The system operation is selectable via the configuration menu. This option is not operator configurable. The service tool must be connected to the machine and communicating in order to change this option.
The "Speed" based option allows the system to remain active when the machine is traveling in the forward direction at speeds less than 8 km/h (5 mph). The system will transition to the standby mode when the machine speed exceeds 8 km/h (5 mph). The system will become active whenever the machine speed falls below 4.8 km/h (3.0 mph) for the configured delay activation time. The system will always be active when the machine is traveling in reverse.
The camera view will no longer automatically switch when the gear selected is Neutral. Neutral camera logic was changed. Camera view does not switch in Neutral gear if objects are detected. Default is front camera. If while in Neutral, a camera other than the default is selected, that camera becomes the default view.
While the machine's transmission is in Neutral the system will utilize a five second delay prior to changing the camera view from the full screen to quarter screen.
"Changed Vision Only" software to add neutral camera logic.
The full screen camera view will now switch to the quarter screen view when an object is detected to allow the operator to identify where the object is located.
Diagnostic codes and events are automatically deleted from the diagnostic log after 100 hours have elapsed with no other occurrences of the diagnostic code or events have been logged.
The "Night" mode and "Day" mode default brightness setting have been changed. "Night" mode brightness has been changed to the 25 percent brightness setting. The "Day" mode brightness setting will automatically adjust the brightness level of the display to the 75 percent brightness setting. The operator can use the brightness button to override the default settings. If the default settings are changed, It will be saved as new settings. The brightness modes are activated by pressing the brightness button on the display for 2 seconds.
The camera view will no longer automatically switch when the gear selected is "Neutral". Neutral camera logic was changed. Camera view does not switch in Neutral gear if objects are detected. Default is front camera. If while in neutral, a camera other than the default is selected, that camera becomes the default view.
The system now alarms with a 2 seconds beep when system fault is active.
Snooze alarm feature was added to silence the alarm when there is a known object being detected. The snooze alarm feature is activated by depressing the alarm check button.
Snooze is deactivated and the system operates normally:
- When the transmission direction is changed.
- When the system enters standby mode and returns to normal operation.
