转向活塞泵 (1) 在泵的后端具有连接器。 此连接器使得能够从转向泵的后端驱动风扇驱动系统的齿轮泵。

活塞泵为可变排量泵。 活塞泵的输出由旋转斜盘 (9) 的角度决定。 随着活塞冲程的增加,更大的旋转斜盘角度 (B) 产生更高的输出。 负载感应压力和泵输出管路内的压力输送到压力和流量补偿阀 (3) 。 压力和流量补偿阀控制旋转斜盘的角度。

滑阀 (6) 的位置决定了旋转斜盘的角度将升高还是降低。 负载感应压力和弹簧 (5) 作用到滑阀 (6) 的一侧。 活塞泵输出管路内的压力作用到滑阀的另一侧。

机器转动时,升高的负载感应压力向下移动滑阀 (6) 。 压力从控制活塞 (8) 中释放且活塞泵加大冲程,直到系统要求得到满足为止。 旋转斜盘的角度 (B) 在弹簧力和控制油缸 (2) 内油压的作用下增大。 控制油缸 (2) 内具有与泵输出管路相同的压力。

方向盘固定不动时,系统要求下降。 泵压使滑阀 (6) 克服降低的负载感应压力和弹簧 (5) 向上移动。 压力传递给控制活塞 (8) 且活塞泵减小冲程,直到降低的系统要求得到满足为止。 角度 (B) 处于最小角度。

系统要求得到满足时,滑阀 (6) 计量到控制活塞 (8) 的油流量。 旋转斜盘的角度保持不变,而活塞泵为系统供应必要的油流量。

滑阀 (7) 限制系统内产生的最大压力。 过高的压力使滑阀 (7) 克服弹簧 (4) 向上移动。 过高的压力释放到转向和风扇驱动系统的液压油箱中。
