Description of Change: The new water pump uses an improved seal that is more resistant to wear and dry operation. The improved seal increases the service life of the water pump.
After coolant fill, the engine runs at low idle for 10 minutes before ramping up to high idle. This purges air from the coolant system which reduces heat build-up in the pump seal and avoids seal damage and leakage.
