Removal Procedure

Start By:

1. Remove the bucket.
2. Remove the bucket linkage.
3. Remove the bucket cylinder.

1. Place the stick into a vertical position. Position the boom onto Tooling (A) .

2. Release the system pressure.

3. Disconnect all hose assemblies.

4. Place suitable cribbing under the stick cylinder. Remove washers (1). Remove pin (2) .

5. Retract stick cylinder (3). Install pin (2) and shims (1). Attach a suitable lifting device to stick (4). The weight of stick (12) is approximately 272 kg (600 lb).

6. Release system pressure.

7. Remove pin assembly (5). Remove stick (4) and any shims (6) that may be present.

   Note: Note the location and the quantity of shims (6) for assembly purposes.

8. Remove washers (6) and pin (5) .

9. Remove bearings (7). Use Tooling (B) in order to remove bearings.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the stick in the reverse order of removal.

   1. Use washers (6) in order to obtain a maximum gap of 1.00 mm (0.039 inch).

   2. Use shims (1) in order to obtain a maximum gap of 4.00 mm (0.157 inch).

   3. Lower the temperature of bearings (7). Use Tooling (B) in order to install bearings (7) so that bearings are flush with the surface.
