(1) Lightly lubricate the sealing lip of the buffer seal assembly with the lubricant that is being sealed.
(2) Lightly lubricate the sealing lip of the U-cup seal with the lubricant that is being sealed.
(3) Lubricate the sealing lip of the wiper seal with the lubricant that is being sealed.
(4) Before assembly, apply 4C-4032 Bearing Mount Compound to the wiper seal groove.
Note: After assembly, sleeve bearings must not extend beyond either surface of the cap assembly.
(5) 6J-6043 Sleeve Bearing
- Inside diameter ... 64.01 ± 0.05 mm (2.520 ± 0.002 inch)
- Outside diameter ... 76.28 ± 0.05 mm (3.003 ± 0.002 inch)
(A) Outside diameter of the piston over two lands ... 132.85 ± 0.05 mm (5.23 ± 0.002 inch)
(B) Diameter of the rod ... 82.500 ± 0.038 mm (3.2480 ± 0.0015 inch)
(C) Bore of the cylinder assembly ... 133.35 ± 0.08 mm (5.25 ± 0.0032 inch)
(D) Bore of the head over four lands ... 82.834 ± 0.030 mm (3.2612 ± 0.0012 inch)
(6) Torque for the piston retaining bolt ... 3100 ± 350 N·m (2287 ± 259 lb ft)
Note: Before assembly, lubricate the threads of the head (7) with clean grease.
(7) Torque for the head ... 600 ± 130 N·m (443 ± 96 lb ft)
