New Fuel Lines are Now Used for the Transfer Pump {1274}

Usage:

R1700G SBR
Load Haul Dump:
R1700G (S/N: SBR591-UP)

Description of Change: New fuel lines are now used for the transfer pump. The new fuel lines have a larger inside diameter that improves starting of the engine.

Adaptable To: The new fuel lines are part of new 326-6836 Lines Gp-Fuel .

The new 326-6836 Lines Gp-Fuel is a direct replacement for the former 316-2774 Lines Gp-Fuel .

The new transfer pump fuel lines are adaptable to R1700G (S/N: SBR591-719).

The new 326-6836 Lines Gp-Fuel is effective in production with R1700G (S/N: SBR720-UP).

Refer to the following information in order to install the new transfer pump fuel lines.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.


Installation Procedure for Machines Installed with 316-2774 Lines Gp-Fuel (S/N: SBR591-719)

  1. Turn the key start switch and battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.

  1. Remove and discard hose assembly (1) .

  1. Remove and discard tube assembly (8), elbow (2) and connector (7) .

  1. Remove and discard tube assembly (6), elbow (9), union (3) and locknut (4) .

  1. Remove and discard bracket (5). Retain the hardware for reassembly.

  1. Install bracket (14), union (12) and locknut (13) .

  1. Install tube assembly (15) and tube assembly (17). Refer to Illustration 3.

  1. Install hose assembly (18) .

  1. Prime the fuel system. Refer to Systems Operation, Testing & Adjusting, "Fuel System - Prime".
