Procedure to Install a New Cover for the Water Pump on Paving Compactor{5614}

Usage:

Paving Compactor:: CB-534D (S/N: EAA1-UP; FEA1-UP; GCA1-UP; FGH1-UP; C8M1-UP); CB-564D (S/N: C6D1-UP); CB-534D (S/N: B5M1-UP); CB-564D (S/N: D4M1-UP)

This special instruction provides the necessary information in order to install a new cover for the water pump on Paving Compactors.

Articulate the machine to the left in order to provide access to the water pumps.

Raise the front of the compactor approximately 100 mm (4 inch). Block the drums.

Lock out the compactor. Tag the compactor in order to prevent starting the engine.

Remove the water pumps. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Water Spray Pump - Remove" for the correct procedure.

Drill four holes (3) in the side frame. Refer to Illustration 4 for the correct dimensions.

Drill and tap four holes (4) in the mounting plate for the water pumps. Refer to Illustration 6 for the correct dimensions.

Install hose tee (5) in front of the pumps on the side frame. Use the existing clips and mounting hardware in order to secure tee (5) to the new holes in the frame. Replace the elbow on the rear of tee (5) with 7D-7026 Hose Connector .

Cut hose (6) to a length of 330 mm (13 inch). Install hose (6) on 7D-7026 Hose Connector .

Install the two outlet hoses to hose tee (5) .
Note: It will be necessary to increase the length of the two outlet hoses in order to connect to the hose tee. Use approximately 150 mm (6 inch) of 5P-1442 Hose in order to connect the front spray bar to tee (5). Use approximately 250 mm (10 inch) of 5P-1442 Hose in order to connect the rear spray bar to tee (5). Use four 7D-7026 Hose Connectors , two 003-9514 Pipe Couplings , and four 5D-1026 Hose Clamps in order to splice the hoses together.

Install 170 mm (6.7 inch) of 7X-7877 Edging Strip (8) on the bottom, front edge of 322-6751 Cover Assembly (10) .

Install 110 mm (4.3 inch) of 7X-7877 Edging Strip (11) on the rear, vertical edge of 322-6751 Cover Assembly (10) .

Install cover assembly (10), 8T-4200 Bolts (12), and 5P-4116 Hard Washers (13) to the mounting plate for the pump. Tighten bolts (12) to a torque of 28 ± 7 N·m (20 ± 5 lb ft).

Secure cover assembly (10) to the frame side plate with 8T-4908 Bolts (14) and 5P-4116 Hard Washers (13). Tighten bolts (14) to a torque of 28 ± 7 N·m (20 ± 5 lb ft).
