Drum Drive Planetary Oil - Change

Usage:

CB-64 CB5

There is a drum drive planetary that is located on the left side of the front drum and on the right side of the rear drum.

Allow the planetary to cool completely before you remove the plugs.

  1. Move the machine until the welded bar (1) on the drum is at the six o'clock position.

  2. Remove the level check plug (2) that is accessible through the hole in the yoke.

  3. Remove the drain plug (3). Drain the oil in a suitable container. Dispose of the oil in an acceptable manner. Install the drain plug.

  4. Remove filler plug (4) that is located at the twelve o'clock position.

  5. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Lubricant Viscosities and Capacities (Refill)". Fill the drum drive planetary until the oil is at the bottom of the level check plug opening.

  6. Clean the level check plug (2) and then install the level check plug.

  7. Clean the filler plug (4) and then install the filler plug.

  8. Repeat the procedure for the opposite planetary.
