Quick-Drop Valve (1) Passage from pilot system (2) Passage to quick-drop accumulator (3) Passage to tank (4) Passage to quick-drop clutch (5) Control spool (6) Spring (7) Control valve group |
The quick-drop valve is used to transfer stored pressure oil from the accumulator to the quick-drop clutch in order to facilitate faster activation of the clutch.
Pilot oil pressure is sent to passage (1) of the quick-drop valve. The pilot oil pressure will overcome the pressure of spring (6). Control spool (5) will shift to the right which will allow pressure oil from passage (2) to be connected to passage (4). This pressurized oil will disengage the quick-drop clutch.
When the pilot pressure is relieved, control spool (5) shifts to the neutral position and passages (2), (3), and (4) are connected to the tank in order to relieve the quick-drop clutch of pressure.
