This diagnostic code may be associated with the internal memory of the IQAN-MDM module. All functions will be stopped.
The possible causes of this diagnostic code are listed below:
- A software error was detected during the self diagnostic of the module.
Test Step 1. DOWNLOAD THE OPERATING SYSTEM AND THE APPLICATION SOFTWARE INTO THE IQAN-MDM MODULE
To install the new software, IQAN Develop Software G4 is needed.
- Retrieve the software onto a laptop computer. You can obtain the software update from the Caterpillar Service Information System (SIS).
- Download the machine applicaiton software into the IQAN-MDM.

Note: While you are updating the IQAN MDM module, the display will be black until the download is complete.
Note: When the machine software is updated, all adjustable parameters and stored values should be recorded. These parameters can then be overwritten during the update of the software and the parameters can be restored once the download is complete if necessary.
Expected Result:
Normal operation of the IQAN-MDM and all machine functions returns.
Results:
- NO - The "CHECKSUM Error" remains active.
Repair: If the diagnostic code is still active, the module may be faulty.Prior to replacing a module, always contact your dealership's Technical Communicator for possible consultation with Caterpillar. This consultation may greatly reduce repair time. If the cause of the diagnostic code is not found, replace the module.
