Description of Change: Changes have been made to the transmission oil lines in order to improve reliability and support of the transmission oil lines.
The changes incorporate an improved hose and an improved mounting arrangement for the transmission oil lines alongside the transmission.
Adaptable To: Changes have been made to 164-6810 Transmission Oil Lines. The changes involve the replacement of the former 205-3557 Hose with a new 288-6477 Hose and the replacement of the former mounting arrangement that used two 8S-0023 Clips and two 8S-0024 Clips with a new 288-7936 Plate, a new 288-7937 Plate and a new 288-7938 Plate .
The changes to 164-6810 Transmission Oil Lines are effective with 740 (S/N: B1P1595-UP) and 740 (S/N: B1R263-UP).
The changes to 164-6810 Transmission Oil Lines are directly adaptable to earlier machines.

Before adapting a former arrangement of 164-6810 Transmission Oil Lines to the new arrangement, first drain the transmission. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Torque Converter and Transmission Oil - Change". Also, when you remove the former bolts and hard washers (3) ensure that the cover on the side of the housing for the sump is not disturbed before installing new spacers, bolts and hard washers (6). If the cover is disturbed, ensure that the seals behind the cover are not trapped and that the seals have not been displaced when the new components are installed in place. If the seals are trapped or displaced, leakage of transmission oil may occur.
