A New Storage Position for the Mud Guards Is Available when the Machine Is Transported {4220}

Usage:

725 AFX
Articulated Truck:
725 (S/N: AFX1-UP; B1L1-UP)
730 (S/N: AGF1-UP; B1M1-UP)
735 (S/N: AWR1-UP; B1N1-UP)
740 (S/N: AXM1-UP; B1P1-UP)

Description of Change: A method is available for storing the mud guards for roading on the listed machines. This protects the mud guards from damage when the machine is being transported.

Illustration 1g01266465

A typical example of a mud guard that is shown in the correct position for roading

Before transportation, fix both mud guards into the position that is shown in Illustration 1. Ensure that the eye in the mud guard is properly installed over the retainer on the body and that the fastener is correctly positioned in order to secure the mud guard.

After transportation is complete, return the mud guards to the operating position.

Adaptable To: The mud guards that are listed in Table 1 have been improved in order to allow the deflectors to be stowed in a position that avoids damage to the deflectors during transportation.

Table 1
Affected Mud Guards
725     (S/N: AFX)     170-1674

(S/N: B1N)
740     (S/N: AXM)
(S/N: B1P)
The improved mud guards are effective on 725 (S/N: B1L763-UP), 730 (S/N: B1M684-UP), 735 (S/N: B1N463-UP) and 740 (S/N: B1P1151-UP).

The improved mud guards are adaptable to all earlier machines that are listed.

Install a 8T-4244 Nut onto each of the 287-5633 Fasteners. Install an assembled 287-5633 Fastener into each of the 8Y-4499 Bosses on the body. Ensure that each of the fasteners is oriented correctly. The pointed end of the toggle should be pointing upward. Tighten the nuts in order to secure the fasteners in place.
