The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.

Problem

The vibratory pump may experience internal failures due to low oil viscosity in machines which are working in high ambient temperatures. The slippers will wear out prematurely. This will result in poor machine performance or complete failure of the vibratory system and propel system.

Solution

Replace the oil in the hydraulic system on machines which are working in ambient temperatures of 35 °C (95 °F) or higher. Replace the hydraulic oil with one of the following grades of oil. Caterpillar DEO 15W40, Caterpillar HYDO 30W and TDTO TMS.
