- 735 (S/N: AWR1-UP; B1N1-UP)
- 740 (S/N: AXM1-UP; B1P1-UP)
- 740 EJECTOR (S/N: AZZ1-UP; B1R1-UP)
Problem Description:
Under certain conditions, the spider between the rear drive shaft and the center axle can foul the rear output yoke on the center axle.
Description of Change:
A modification to the rear output yoke on the center axle of the listed machines has been introduced in order to improve the clearance between the rear output yoke and the rear drive shaft.

The introduction of the modification removes instances of fouling between the rear output yoke on the center axle and the rear drive shaft that is observed in the areas that are shown in Illustration 1.
Adaptable To:
The modification to the rear output yoke involves an new forging and machining operation.
The modification to the rear output yoke is introduced on 735 (S/N: B1N305-UP), 740 (S/N: B1P556-UP) and 740 EJECTOR (S/N: B1R189-UP).
The modification to the rear output yoke is directly adaptable to all earlier machines.

In order to adapt an earlier version of the rear output yoke, remove 2.5 ± 0.5 mm (0.10 ± 0.02 inch) of material in the areas that are shown in Illustration 2.
You must take care to blend in the machined surface smoothly with the surrounding material in order to avoid any stress risers. Paint the rear output yoke after the removal of material. Ensure that the mating surface on the rear output yoke for the universal joint of the rear drive shaft remains free of paint.
