供油从活塞泵流经补偿阀到活塞马达。 回油也流过活塞马达，流经补偿阀。
来自活塞马达的回油被用作补偿油。 当风扇停止运转时，补偿油用于防止活塞马达的真空状态。
当活塞泵的控制阀向活塞泵发出减小行程的信号时，活塞马达的供油减少。 活塞马达在风扇叶片总成质量的作用下持续旋转。 活塞马达的持续旋转在补偿阀 (1) 的油道 (7) 内产生了一真空。 该真空会降低油道 (7) 中的压力。 油道 (7) 内的压力和弹簧 (8) 的弹力总和小于油道 (4) 内的压力。 单向阀 (5) 将打开。
当单向阀 (5) 打开时，回油从油道 (4) 流向油道 (7) 。 回油通过管路 (6) 进入活塞马达。 补偿油路消除了活塞马达中形成气穴的可能性。
当机器停机时同样的流程会发生。
测压口 (2) 位于补偿阀 (1) 上。 使用测压口测量活塞泵的压力。
