Conditions Which Generate This Code:

Note: This diagnostic code appears on the display when the electric mast is extended or retracted to the maximum limits.

The left hand laser receiver cannot work to the required offset.

System Response:

The diagnostic code appears on the display.

Test Step 1. CHECK UPPER AND LOWER LIMIT SWITCHES

  1. Press the "OK/Right Reset" Button in order to clear the diagnostic code from the display.

  1. Use the limit switch for the elevation of the left mast to raise or lower the mast to middle height.

  1. Measure the resistance of the affected limit switch.

    Refer to Special Instruction, REHS2402 for the location of the limit switches.

Expected Result:

Measured resistance is less the 5 Ohms.

Results:

  • OK - The measured resistance is less than 5 Ohms.

    Repair: Return the machine to normal service. If a problem continues, contact your Dealership's Technical Communicator for a possible consultation with Caterpillar.

    STOP

  • NOT OK - The measured resistance is greater than 5 Ohms.

    Repair: Repair the affected limit switch or replace the affected limit switch. Refer to Special Instruction, REHS2402 for instructions for replacing the limit switches.

    STOP
