Description of Change: A new shaft seal is used in various metering pumps (steering). The new two-piece seal replaces the former cup seal. The new seal is serviceable only in the seal kit. A new seal installation tool is also available.

Adaptable To: The new 257-8471 Seal Kit replaces the former 227-4709 Seal Kit. Use the new 257-8474 Installation Tool to install the new seal. The exact effective product identification numbers are not available at the time of this publication. However, the new seal is adaptable to all earlier affected models.
